Topics for this year include environmental information such as hybrid trucks, electric vehicles, green fleet initiatives. Technical information include items such as 2010 engine emissions, equipment engineering certification, trailer hitches and winter tires. See the agenda for details. The Standing Committees will report on mechanic certification, and the CSA, ISO and ANSI standards that pertain to the industry. We will also continue on with the suppliers and manufacturers One-on-One sessions that have proved to be popular the last few years. This permits suppliers to address the forum without competitors present. There will also be a reception for attendees and spouses on Sunday May 24 in the afternoon and a dinner on Monday night. We hope that through a Forum such as this, we can identify issues of mutual interest and concern as well as establish goals to improve the Industry as a whole. There will be a round table panel discussion on items such as driver training, reducing motor vehicle accidents, anti idling campaigns and more, leading into an open forum discussion where you can table questions, issues, concerns, points of interest, solutions, unique situations or anything else you would like to discuss. This is an opportunity to meet and network with a wide range of Utility Fleet Associates from coast to coast. Again this year we will feature an equipment trade show. The major manufacturers of utility equipment and vehicles will be displaying their wares for 2 days for all to see, ask questions and kick tires. This year’s Forum will be held at the Port Authority convention center in lower Quebec City at Espaces Dalhousie located at 84 Dalhousie St. Rooms have been booked at 4 hotels, all with in a few minutes walk to the convention center.
